Fleas
Written by Imogen Cordelia Grover
Introduction to the work:
Fleas is a new show by up-and-coming playwright Imogen Cordelia Grover that touches on the lack of bodily autonomy that women and girls have in the United States due to the strict anti-abortion laws in some states brought about in recent years. The show moves through a series of short scenes that follow a few different characters whose connections either start with or end up revolving around pregnancy and the need for an abortion. Grover explores many different reasons for a woman to need an abortion from medical necessity to pregnancy caused by sexual assault to purely just not being ready to be a parent and shares these stories through a semi surrealist lens.
